Select Board member Steve Cavey appeared on the Stoke Media Access program "Around Town with Dave Walsh" on July 6 to discuss a range of municipal projects, including the Park Street sewer extension — originally estimated at $10 million to $12 million but completed for approximately $2 million to the town after grants and state aid — and a sewer-sharing agreement with Avon that the Select Board unanimously approved and that is still in the MWRA permitting and design phase. On the downtown community center, Cavey credited former Select Board member Mike Sullivan with negotiating the building's return from the MBTA, U.S.

Representative Stephen Lynch with securing $1 million in federal funding, and the state — with help from Senator Driscoll and Representative Phillips — for contributing $2 million; the building opened last month. Cavey also described three senior housing projects in various stages: a roughly 100-unit passive-house Heber Senior Life development near Old Middle School on Canton Street, an early-stage mixed-use proposal at the former Sinai Hospital site, and a 45-and-over development on Park Street with amenities including pickleball courts and a dedicated bus.
