Quincy, Milton Land Joint 911 Dispatch Grant From State
QUINCY -- Quincy and Milton have been awarded an $8 million state grant that will let the two communities pursue a joint 911 dispatch center, the city announced this week.
TOWN HALL The grant, confirmed under Mayor Thomas P. Koch's administration, will fund a feasibility push toward a regional emergency dispatch center serving both Quincy and Milton, a move that could reshape how 911 calls are answered and routed for residents of both communities. City Hall did not detail a timeline for the joint center in its announcement.
Separately, the city is inviting families to submit photos for this year's Annual Candlelight Vigil Memorial Video, a recurring tribute produced by the city.
