School Committee · Meeting of November 4, 2026

MILTON — Pierce Middle School's principal told the Milton School Committee that 2026 MCAS results improved in several categories. Dr. Bill Fish reported eighth grade science at 74 percent meeting or exceeding expectations, up from 67 percent, and sixth grade math at 64 percent, up from 59 percent. He said the school has the state's highest middle school daily attendance and described teacher-level data reviews and common assessments as ways to "move the needle." A member said the superintendent search will add four January meetings for finalist interviews and deliberation, with applications open through Nov. 24.

The committee approved Oct. 28 minutes unanimously. Resident Darrell Ware asked again for review of altered student records.
