DEDHAM — The School Committee backed the town's stormwater retrofits at Dedham Middle School and Riverdale School and began reviewing a fiscal 2028 capital request. Director of Engineering Jason Momoni said the work helps remove about 900 pounds of phosphorus from the Charles River watershed over 15 years, with construction targeted for summer 2028 and a repaved Riverdale lot. The capital request included $150,000 for doors, $700,000 for an Oakdale roof and roughly $6 million for a high school fire alarm.
One member said he was "shocked" by the $6.8 million total, while others called the alarm a life safety issue. The committee also approved residency policy JFAA.
