Walpole Select Board OKs $1.75 million Casella trash deal, fills three board seats. The board voted 4-0 to approve a memorandum of agreement with Casella Waste Systems, shifting residents to 96-gallon carts while keeping weekly collection, with Chair Allyson Hamilton calling the old rear-loading system "a dinosaur." Member James O'Neil called the deal "outstanding," and the agreement includes a $1,500 Walpole Scholarship Foundation contribution and $7,500 in education incentives. The board also appointed Jo-Ann Kascavitch to the Housing Authority, promoted Marcia St.
Louis and Jerome Reicher to full Council on Aging membership, named Susan Kelliher and Sarah Pompeo as associates, and appointed Jack Petersen to the Zoning Board of Appeals. It approved a junk dealer license for Erica Young's Personally Pick'd Upscale Resale LLC with no in-person sales allowed, and accepted a $96,000 Allied Recycling donation for Town Common lighting. Clerk Mark Gallivan was absent, recovering from surgery.
