Select Board finalizes 20-article fall warrant
Select Board · Meeting of September 21, 2026
Bellingham Select Board closes a 20-article fall town meeting warrant and backs a $50,000 water cybersecurity grant. The board voted 4-0 across a string of roll calls to open, insert, close and execute the warrant, which includes a bond authorization of up to $9 million tied to a district improvement financing program and a required $2.66 million payment from WS Development. Members also approved local acceptance of the BRAVE Act veterans' property tax abatement and voted to self-nominate for a Boston Region MPO seat, naming planning director Rachel Benson as representative: "We aren't Boston, and we are different," she said.
A DPW staffer, Jesse, said a Wright-Pierce-assisted cybersecurity grant "would certainly put us in a better position" against water-system attacks like ones cited in Littleton and Everett.
