State Declares Drought, Sharon Limits Outdoor Watering to Hoses
SHARON — Sharon is now under mandatory outdoor watering restrictions after state officials declared a Level 2 significant drought across most of Massachusetts, limiting residents to handheld hoses only, while Town Hall separately seeks a new volunteer for its Human Resources Board.

The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs has declared a Level 2 significant drought affecting most of Massachusetts, including Sharon, according to the town's News Flash. As a result, outdoor water use in town is now restricted to handheld hoses only, a mandate residents should expect to see enforced through the summer as state officials monitor conditions.
Separately, the Town of Sharon is seeking a new member for its Human Resources Board, per a News Flash post today. Residents interested in serving can find application details through the town's website.
The July edition of the town's newsletter, Sharon Matters, is also now available online, offering residents a fuller roundup of municipal happenings this month.

The Sharon Public Library will open late, at 11 a.m., on Monday, July 13, for staff development, according to the library's website. The library also continues to have limited on-site parking due to an ongoing solar panel installation on its roof.
The library's Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet Wednesday, July 15, as part of the town's regular civic calendar.
