Dover Declares Level 2 Drought, Limits Outdoor Watering
DOVER — The Town of Dover has declared a Level 2 Significant Drought, imposing new restrictions on outdoor water use as the summer continues, while the Department of Public Works prepares to begin paving projects this month.
TOWN HALL
Dover officials announced a Level 2 Significant Drought declaration for the town, limiting nonessential outdoor water use to hand-held hoses or watering cans only, and restricting that use to before 9 a.m. or after 5 p.m. The move follows dry conditions and is aimed at conserving the town's water supply through the summer.
The Department of Public Works also confirmed upcoming paving projects set to begin this month, according to the town's News Flash. Additionally, Aquarion Water Company met with the Board of Selectmen in a Public Information Session to discuss options for addressing water quality challenges affecting Aquarion customers, including discolored water and the presence of PFAS.
The July edition of the town's "OUR TOWN" newsletter is now available, featuring updates from departments, boards, and committees on ongoing initiatives and events for the month.
