Stoughton Planning Board reviews 331-unit proposal for former Sinai Hospital site

STOUGHTON — June 25, 2026 — Stoughton Planning Board takes informal look at 331-unit mixed-use proposal for former Sinai Hospital site. Berkeley Investments, now operating as Berkeley Garba, presented a concept for 143 and 150 York Street featuring approximately 25 to 30 two-story active-adult townhomes along York Street and up to 300 market-rate apartments in four-story buildings at the rear of the 31-acre site — down from an initial concept of roughly 400 units that town development services had rejected. Assistant Town Manager Mark Mahoney said the Select Board unanimously endorsed the project at its Tuesday meeting. Town Planner Bill Donahue outlined a compressed schedule: Planning Board work sessions in July and August, public hearings on a planned residential overlay district bylaw through September and October, and a target Special Town Meeting date of November 16 or 18. Berkeley committed to donating at least 13 acres — including the entire one-acre parcel across the street — to the town. The chairman declined a request for an informal board endorsement, saying proper public notice had not been given for a vote.
