The Department of Public Works reported a water main break at the intersection of Shady Lane and Hawthorne Drive on Wednesday afternoon, according to a Town of Franklin News Flash alert issued at 5:32 p.m. The break came on the same day as a scheduled water shut-off that the town had announced Tuesday morning, affecting the area as crews worked to address system needs.

Separately, the town's homepage listed an active road closure for a culvert repair project on Prospect Street, though no start or end date was included in the alert. Residents in the affected areas should expect continued utility work through the week.
