Weston Road Paving Rescheduled To July 8-9 After Weather Delay
WELLESLEY — Weston Road will close to through traffic Wednesday and Thursday for a rescheduled paving project, while the Wellesley Free Library rolls out a busy summer program slate under new parking constraints at the Main Library.
TOWN HALL
The town has again pushed back paving on Weston Road, according to an updated News Flash from Wellesley officials. The work, delayed by inclement weather, is now scheduled for July 8 and July 9, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, with the road closed to through traffic during those hours. Drivers in the area should expect detours through the two-day window.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Wellesley Free Library's Main Library parking lot will be under construction from July through September 2026, a change library officials say may limit available parking for visitors. The library is also closed on Sundays through September 13 as part of its adjusted summer hours.
On the programming side, the library has a full slate this week: Tech Time in Jackie's Room and Learn to Play Rummikub both run Thursday, July 9, from 10 a.m. to noon and 11 a.m. to noon respectively, followed by Banned Book Club that evening from 6 to 7 p.m. Genealogy resources are the focus of "Find Your Family History" on Friday, July 10, from 10 to 11 a.m. Looking ahead, the library's featured live performance, "The Women of '76 with Rita Parisi," a one-woman show on Revolutionary-era women, is set for Tuesday, July 14, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Wakelin Room.
