Wrentham Select Board approves new deli liquor license, reviews town manager evaluation

WRENTHAM — March 4, 2026 — Wrentham Select Board unanimously approved a new off-premises wine and malt license and gave Town Manager Michael King a 4.88-out-of-5 performance rating at its March 4 remote meeting. The board approved the license for J&M Delights Incorporated, doing business as Maui's Deli Shop at 305 Sheer Street, represented by Attorney Edward Grorke of Pawtucket on behalf of owner Miguel Noriega-Solares, who brings more than 20 years of food industry experience. The board also voted 5-0 to apply $2,040 in unexpended Water Meter Bond premium proceeds and $1,457.30 from the 2095 West Street land acquisition toward debt service. Cultural Council Chair Eileen Ehrig briefed the board on a $75,000 state grant application for a $150,000 roof replacement at the town-owned Old Fisk Museum, contingent on a matching $75,000 from the Community Preservation Committee. The board held preliminary discussions — without a vote — on two possible June town meeting bylaw changes: replacing the unanimous-consent requirement to suspend secret ballots on capital projects over $2 million with a majority-vote standard, and transferring dog hearing authority from the Select Board to Police Chief McGrath.
