Cohasset Conservation Commission approved a private dock on Little Harbor and ratified an emergency water line repair at its February 26 meeting. The four-member commission — Chair Chris McIntyre, Vice Chair Steve Magnell, Secretary Kathy Berigan, and Member Will Ashton — voted 4-0 to issue an Order of Conditions and a variance for GSD Estate Nominee Trust to build a 4-by-29-foot timber pier, 3-by-30-foot gangway, and 10-by-20-foot float at 54-60 Beach Street, with seven required native tree plantings to offset four trees removed by a prior owner. The commission also ratified Conservation Agent Charlotte Pechtl's February 25 emergency certification for a temporary water line bypass at 150 Howard Gleason Road, where a rupture had knocked out fire suppression service; the applicant has until March 27 to complete the temporary work.

A driveway-paving application from Adam Norman at 88 Doane Street was continued to March 5 after commissioners directed the applicant to roughly double a proposed 517-square-foot mitigation planting strip along the Aaron River Riverfront Area. In agent updates, Pechtl disclosed a potential change that could require the Conservation Department to fund its own Town Counsel legal expenses — a departure from the town's historical single-budget legal model — and announced a draft warrant article to reduce the commission's mandated membership from seven to five members.
