The board worked through open questions on parking requirements, fine structures, minimum rental durations, and whether fees and penalties belong in the bylaw or in a separate regulations document; Milton's assistant town administrator has identified 75 properties on the state's Department of Revenue short-term rental registry. The board also voted unanimously to submit a zoning text amendment deleting a fallback provision that would have allowed the town's MBTA Multifamily Overlay District affordable housing requirement to drop from 15 percent to 10 percent, with Hall saying active development projects before the board require clarity.
