NORFOLK — The Norfolk Select Board voted unanimously to expand its Procurement and Internal Controls Advisory Working Group to 12 members and to execute the warrant for a November 10 special Town Meeting. Chair Kevin Roche questioned spending "$75,000 to $100,000 on a forensic audit" he suspected "would not recover $75,000 worth of fraud," after bids for a limited two-year forensic review came back above the town's $50,000 estimate. The board leaned toward letting Town Meeting voters decide whether to fund the audit rather than deciding themselves.
Kenneth Nelson and Ray Cisneros were appointed to the working group; William Dempsey joined the Conservation Commission through 2029. The board also discussed flipping the order of Town Meeting and the annual town election and moving the election to a Saturday, and adopted a policy standardizing benefits language across personal employment contracts. The board voted 3-0 to enter executive session over the Conowitz v.
Norfolk litigation.
