Select Board · Meeting of October 15, 2026

Avon's Select Board gave early level-fund direction for the fiscal 2028 budget and signed the warrant for a Dec. 12 special election. Town Administrator Jonathan Beder told the board that contracts for all four unions and seven non-union department heads expire in June, and recommended level-service salaries with placeholder raises. Departments seeking more than 2 percent on expenses must submit backup memos.

Beder flagged trash costs rising about 8 percent to 10 percent and health insurance up 10 percent to 12 percent. The board approved signs for two election campaigns, several hires and step increases, and two alcohol permits, all by voice vote. Voting for the open three-year Select Board seat runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Town Hall.
