Wellesley wetlands panel extends Waterstone planting deadline after unpermitted wall. The Wetlands Protection Committee, chaired by Eleanor McLane, voted unanimously to give the Waterstone complex until late September to replace dead plantings and add a bench near a retaining wall built without a permit after an emergency truck-safety issue. Members Doug Hersh, Peter Jones and Jim Mclaren also approved an Order of Conditions for 235 Weston Road, a negative determination for an addition at 81 Glen Road, and a friendly enforcement order requiring "70 percent survivability" of mitigation plantings at 28 Sturbridge Road after unpermitted tree removal there.
Reinhart Block, a town meeting member, told the board a 24-unit apartment redesign at 49 Walnut Street cut roof area only 7.2 percent and again undercounted abutter notifications, calling the pattern "very telling of the applicant's entire approach to the project." That project, along with a Suffolk Road rebuild facing flooding concerns from abutters, was continued to September 10.
