Wetlands Panel Ratifies Permits, Continues Hearings

Wetlands Protection Committee · Meeting of September 10, 2026

Wellesley's Wetlands Protection Committee weighs in on a draft town policy for selling small land parcels, many within wetlands jurisdiction. Select Board Secretary Colette told the panel roughly half the parcels on a disposition "universe" list fall in wetland areas, prompting member Doug Hersh to warn against "ridding the town of the land" given its value. The committee ratified an emergency wetlands permit for a water-main break at 72 Windsor Road and issued certificates of compliance for 159 Dover Road and 130-140 Worcester Road, where it also opened a new filing for a 15-unit redevelopment proposing 2-to-1 wetland mitigation on 625 square feet of extra riverfront impact.

It approved a conditioned propane-tank installation at 49 Eisenhower Circle and continued reviews of a National Grid gas-station upgrade, a revised Suffolk Road stormwater plan, and a 24-unit Walnut Street apartment project to October 1.
